Vice President Jack Garner (1932-1940) | Back To Menu |
As a young boy, I remember sitting on the porch of former Vice President Jack Garners' home in Uvalde, Texas listening to he and my father tell Texas political stories.
My father was a Texas State Representative and Mr. Garner was one of his constituents, because he lived in my fathers district. "Cactus Jack" as he was fondly known once said that, "Being Vice President wasn't worth a bucket of warm spit". I was impressed by how jovial he was.
